I dig that stuff. But to me, when it’s someone I love, there’s no such thing as small talk. I like details. Stupid, unimportant details, so I can imagine life from behind your eyeballs. I can’t feel another’s feelings directly like you can. My empathy comes from my ability to imagine, vividly, myself in another’s skin, my own soul in a different context. The clearer the picture, the better I know how to be there for you.
