HAVE YOU HAD “FAILED” RELATIONSHIPS? 💔⁣

Every time a relationship ends, we have a tendency of looking at it with the eyes of shame, guilt, or regret. ⁣

We keep on ruminating over our past by obsessing over how good things were. We keep re-traumatizing ourselves by living in that experience over and over again. That is overthinking. ⁣

Every time you do that, you are missing out on some great wisdom. ⁣

Extracting crucial information by looking at the event objectively so that you are better prepared for the coming future, that is a part of critical thinking.⁣

Stop overthinking. Start thinking critically.⁣

When a relationship goes south, you are presented with a huge opportunity for growth, provided you correct your mindset around the relationship ending.⁣

There is no such thing as a failed relationship. Every relationship has a purpose to serve in your life. That event had to happen exactly as it did in order for your best version to step forward.⁣

Put on your geeky glasses and start answering questions like:⁣

1) “What were the red flags that I should have paid attention to early on in the dating process?⁣

2) What did I learn from the experience?⁣

3) What were the personality attributes in them that bothered me?⁣

4) What were the personality attributes in them that I loved?⁣

5) If I were to be guided by my intuition, what would I do differently?”⁣

That is how you critically analyse relationship endings. This serves two purpose:⁣

1) Writing about a painful experience is a therapeutic activity, so you are healing yourself. ⁣

2) By figuring out what you don’t want, you are moving closer towards what you do want, the information which will help you when evaluating prospect partners in the future.⁣

Relationship endings help you set an upgraded vision for the type of partner that you want, and you could have never received that data unless some of your previous relationships “failed.”⁣

And that is why it is important to honour your experiences, no matter how tragic they might have been. They are always building you into a much more resilient, strong, capable, self-aware, wise person.⁣
