Corrie’s Andy Whyment guest of honour at Jack Grealish’s superfan sister’s 18th bash

Andy Whyment, who plays the hapless Kirk in Coronation Street, revealed he’d invited to make a guest appearance at Jack Grealish’s sister’s 18th birthday party as she’s a huge fan of the ITV soap

Manchester City star Jack Grealish invited Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment to be guest of honour at his sister’s 18th birthday bash.

Jack, 25, stunned little sister Hollie by arranging for her favourite soap character to make a cameo at her party.

Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland in the ITV soap, took to Instagram to post pictures from inside the party.

“Absolute pleasure to surprise @holliegrealish one of the biggest @coronationstreet fans I know tonight for her 18th Birthday,” he penned.

Birthday girl Hollie looked stunning in the snap in a dazzling silver dress.

While brother Jack looked casual in his dressed-down designer gear with a cap covering his trademark curtains.

Hollie replied to Andy’s post, commenting “You’ve made my night complete, thank you so much for coming, hopefully I’ll see you soon xxx.”

To which Andy responded: “You’re more than welcome Hollie it was lovely to finally meet you, enjoy your birthday tomorrow and I’ll see again soon xx”.

It had been a busy weekend for Grealish who first appeared in Manchester City’s win against Arsenal before making a guest appearance himself at Leeds festival.

The footie ace even took to the stage to join rapper Stormzy for his headline set on Saturday night.

Grealish acknowledged the crowd and gave Manchester United fan Stormzy a hug before heading back to watch side of stage.

While Grealish’s friendship with Stormzy surprised the festival crowd, his bromance with Corrie’s Whyment has been years in the making.

It’s believed the pair got close through mutual acquaintances on nights out in Manchester.

Whyment became a regular contact on Grealish’s phone after he revealed that his sister idolises the actor.

Speaking to Aston Villa’s official media channels, Grealish explained his sister’s admiration for TV soap and how grateful he is for Whyment’s conversations with her.

“My sister has so many idols, she just loves Coronation Street, and she loves Kirk from Corrie.

“I’ve got Kirk’s number and we FaceTime him now and again and he just makes her day” added Grealish.

Whyment, first shot to fame as Darren in The Royle Family before joining the Corrie cast 21 years ago in 2000 playing Kirk Sutherland.

The actor won a new fan base after his stint in the 2019 series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, eventually finishing second to Jacqueline Jossa.
