Britney’s fans have been campaigning for years

She told the court: “The conservatorship of the person and the estate of Britney Jean Spears is hereby terminated.”

Britney can now make her own medical, financial and personal decisions for the first time since 2008.

In heartbreaking testimonies earlier this year, Britney explained the level she was controlled by her conservators and spoke of what she planned to do when she was eventually freed including driving alone and going on holiday.

Court documents recently appeared to show that her father Jamie was happy for the conservatorship to end as he was tired of fighting with his daughter.

Documents filed by his attorneys read: “Jamie unconditionally loves and supports his daughter. Full stop.

“As he has done for her entire life, Jamie will do everything he can to protect and care for her. For the last 13 years, that included serving as her Conservator. Now, it means ending her Conservatorship.

“This conservatorship should end. Now. There is no reason for another second of delay. Jamie is willing to stipulate to the immediate termination of the Conservatorship without reservation or exception.”

Britney has previously shared her plans to marry fiancé Sam Asghari with a wedding thought to be in the works.
