Being Always Right

Although knowledge and intelligence are highly praised and advantageous in today’s society, they can actually prove to be disadvantageous in the context of relationships. Pettiness and triviality can come in between relationships when we are so fixated on being right. The distortion of needing to always be correct creates a facade of chronic perfectionism, which protects our vulnerability and identity from rejection and despair. The Gospel, however, intervenes to advocate love over knowledge.
