Our eyes and ears need to be wide open during Courtship, and this does not mean that we begin to search out every available information on our partner in a bid to know every single detail about them;
The crave to find out every single detail about a person in order to have them all figured out and predictable in a bid to control/regulate the love you receive from them is altogether ungodly, purely a product of fear and only leads to manipulation as well as hurt.

As much as we should learn about our intended spouse, we only learn of them in order that we may understand how to best love them.
This is because one cannot love whom/what they do not know.

The Secret here is that getting married to a person means we have decided to accommodate every single attribute, character and disposition of theirs including those which they may develop/evolve into with time. Also, it means we have decided to partner with them through every experience, whether pleasurable or undesirable_
Now being that the undesirable attribute/character/disposition of a person are what tend to bring up problems in Marriage, we will need our eyes and ears to be entirely wide open during Courtship so that our mind becomes well aware and hence prepared towards accommodating all the weaknesses and flaws of our partner because we only seek to go forward in Marriage and never to retreat.

This is because in Marriage we must deliberately decide to shut our eyes completely from whatever weaknesses/flaws our partner manifests while learning in our spirit to love them just as God loves them,
since we have entered into the permanent phase of Relationship where we must build together with them and work towards perfection with them.
We must also shut our ears to every negative statement made about them, whomever might be the source.
