Want to get a man to eat out of your hand?
Then stop chasing him and relax!
When I was a little girl, my dad had trained the chickadee birds in our backyard to eat out of his hand and I desperately wanted to do the same thing because I thought I was a Disney princess.
I would run around the backyard chasing the birds with a handful of birdseed, anxious to hold one.
Eventually my dad got tired of watching me struggle and taught me what to do: put the seed in my hand, hold still and practice every day. He promised that every day I did this the birds would learn to trust me more until they felt safe enough to sit with me.
He didn’t know it at the time, but my dad taught me an important lesson about men: men are like chickadees, if you sit back, relax and become a space where they’re safe to be who they are, they’ll come flocking to eat out of your hand.
Because when you try to chase him, he’ll be gone in a second!
