Who has ever experienced that super awkward “day after a hookup”?
.
A while back, I had the most cringy “day after” experience. But let’s back up to the night prior. We were on a trip with our friends, and we went out together. The sexual tension was REAL. My body knew exactly what it wanted and my desire took over. I made the first move and it was HOT, but totally unexpected. After all, we had just been friends leading up to this night; now we were entering new territory.
.
The next morning, we had an early flight with some of our friends. We were scrambling to pack and get ready to leave when I got a text asking if I wanted some eggs for breakfast… Now I was in total freakout mode. My mind was racing. Did this mean something? Are we still friends? Is this a thing now?
.
So naturally, I avoided the situation at all costs because I was not ready to deal with all these questions, or even more terrifying, have a conversation about it.
.
And to make matters worse, of course, my friend / sexy hookup / egg-making enthusiast and I had booked our seats (prior in the week, pre-random hookup) next to each other for THE ENTIRE DAY.
.
We spent the day avoiding each other and trying not to make eye contact. Clearly, both of us had no idea what the fuck was going on or what the other person was thinking/feeling. .
.
IT WAS SO FUCKING AWKWARD.
.
How many times have you found yourself in a situation like this? Sometimes, sex and dating is awkward, but instead of staying in limbo, we can learn to express ourselves freely, even when that’s awkward too.
.
@askformolly and I are teaming up to hold a workshop “Sex, dating, and being a modern woman is awkward! Let’s talk about it!” .
.
.
This Friday night 5/22. Spend an evening with us talking about intimate, uncomfortable and taboo topics. .
.
We’ll share our stories from how we went from awkward to self expressed and what it means to have a voice, use it, and take up space as a woman in 2020.
