We live in a day and age of instant gratification. We get a phone with data and we stop writing letters and poems. We have food delivery services so we stop cooking. We have dating apps so we stop going out to look for love.

We apply the same to our relationships, failing to realize that bonds, ties and LOVE develop organically. Truth is, you don’t stop putting in effort. 5 years in, 10 years in, even 40 years into a relationship or marriage, you PUT IN THE HARD WORK. People NEVER get tired of feeling accepted, appreciated and taken care of like their existence matters the most.

We wonder why the butterflies stop fluttering after a while. Oh, they flutter alright, we just stopped paying attention to them, engulfed by other worldly pleasures. – MJ
