💥Know your worth. Know your value. Because when you do – you’re in your power!💥

Many of us feel bad for worrying about what others think of us. We may even believe that this makes us a weak person. But in reality there are good reasons for caring what others think.
⠀⠀
To begin with, people are social by nature. Being aware of others’ reactions provides us with information about the state of our relationships. We know if we’ve offended, or endeared ourself, to people.
⠀⠀
Nurturing our connections naturally involves caring about what people think. We may be willing to upset someone important to us, but we’ll ultimately want to resolve the problem. So, caring about what they think can help us navigate and maintain valued relationships.
⠀⠀
The real problem with caring about what others think of us is when we become more concerned with their reactions than our own self-assessment; or even worse – we don’t know what we believe because we are so eager to please them.
⠀⠀
It’s important for us to know our own mind. If we don’t, then it’s important to begin spending some time reflecting on our experiences, thoughts, feelings, wants, and needs.
⠀⠀
What if you didn’t care about what other people thought of you? What if you did whatever you wanted regardless of how it affected others?
⠀⠀
Your friends would probably feel like you don’t care about them and you may have trouble at work, especially if your job involves interacting with people.
⠀⠀
My nugget – it’s absolutely okay – even beneficial – to be aware of and care about others’ reactions to you, so long as you don’t lose sight of yourself.
⠀⠀
But if you think you do place too much value on trying to please others, then it’s time to turn the focus on strengthening your sense of self.
⠀⠀
