I know for me if “my type” worked for me I wouldn’t still be single in my 40’s. ⁣

The thing is, what does that even mean? “My type?!” It must not work because how many women have dated their “type” only to end up heartbroken or in another dead-end relationship?!⁣

The reality is this…we may know what we like on a very surface level and what makes us feel good; and hopefully we know our needs and values as well (if we don’t we need to spend time learning and knowing ourselves in order to know what we need in a partner). ⁣

But we don’t 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 know what’s good for us. Only God knows. We don’t always know what part of us God is trying to shape and mold within us, so he may send a specific partner to help bring out the things he needs in us to serve HIM and fulfill our purpose for our lives. We may not fully understand that someone who is really different from us might actually be what we need to achieve balance. ⁣

The point is…let go of your “type” if you’re looking for a real relationship. If that “type” hasn’t worked out for you perhaps we need a new “type” or God’s type for us. If he/she aligns with your needs and your values, you’re starting off from a powerful place. Give them a chance. Sparks come and go but true character and values last a lifetime. ❤️🌹⁣
