📢 Netflix and Chill is NOT quality time.
.
Quality Time is not sitting together watching TV, it’s giving your partner undivided attention and avoiding distractions. If your partner’s primary love language is Quality Time, engage in activities where you spend focused time that creates a sense of togetherness. Quality conversation is another thing that is very important to your partner.
.
Couples find it difficult to emotionally connect during this time. The key is to find ways to experience love by being together. To help you identify those ways and build stronger relationships, I’m using the 5 Love Languages to teach how to show love by speaking your partner’s primary love language. By speaking your partner’s love language, they walk away saying “I feel loved”, “She really cares about me”. Here are a few ways to express love by giving Quality Time:
.
🕐 Make a list of things your partner mentioned they want to do with you. Schedule one each week.
🕑 Listen sympathetically – make eye contact, observe body language and feelings, do not interrupt.
🕒 Play conversation games like Table Topics.
🕓 Ask your partner to make a list of things they want to do. Even if it’s something you don’t want to do, make your best effort to join them.
🕔 Talk like you use to do when you started dating! Have a night without social media or TV and talk the night away. Share your dreams, experiences and fears.
