Gemma Collins broke down in tears over cruel death threats she had received from trolls.

Emotional GC, 40, gave a tear-jerking interview which tackled the topic of death threats for her Life Stories chat with Piers Morgan which will air on Thursday.

It’s been a tough few months in the spotlight for Gemma as she split from her now rumoured on-again boyfriend James Argent and her parents battled Covid-19.

In the heartbreaking interview, the former TOWIE star shed some light on the “downside to fame” including death threats and trolling.

However, the bubbly blonde insisted she was “more comfortable” in her own skin now.

Gemma told Piers: “It’s hard to watch. You don’t forget it but, that’s the downside to fame. I’m a lot more comfortable now in my own skin.”

Her former TOWIE co-star Joey Essex read out death threats Gemma received.

The reality star blasted the messages aimed at Gemma as “terrifying” and “abusive”.

“You’re so fat, die,” one message read.

Joey said: “That really brought her confidence down. I mean, getting death threats is not a joke, it’s not only abuse, it’s like… terrifying.”

Gemma was the first guest to take the hot seat in the new series of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.

It will return to our screens later this week.

Piers said death threats were unacceptable.

He said: “And, you know, maybe she is a bit tougher because of it all, but I can tell you that would have really hurt her again yesterday, the reaction.

“I’ve got no problem with criticism of people, especially high profile people, you’re a celebrity who courts publicity, you’re a public figure, a politician, whatever you may be.

“But this kind of, ‘I want you dead’ stuff is, it has no place in public discourse.”
