I’m a Celeb: Loose Women panel ‘just want to hug’ Frankie

Frankie Bridge’s Loose Women co-stars jumped to her defence after her showdown with Naughty Boy on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! left her in tears last night.

The singer broke down after clashing with the music producer over the cooking and shocked viewers by reminding him he wasn’t the first to arrive into ‘our’ camp.

While the exchange split fans, the Loose Women panel came down firmly on Frankie’s side as they discussed the argument on Thursday’s episode of the lunch time show.

“I just want to hug her,” said Katie Piper.

Kaye Adams said Frankie is not a confrontational person and said she ‘couldn’t believe’ her eyes when she saw her exchange tense words with her campmate.

“It was one word that tipped that conversation!” she cried.

Naughty Boy and Frankie Bridge had a disagreement over rice on Thursday’s episode of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity

Nadia Sawalha put Frankie’s response down to the gruelling castle conditions. “You’re hungry and tired, you’re missing home you’re cold and not sleeping properly,” she explained.

“It was nothing but you can imagine how much bigger it felt for them.”

“She’s also probably missing her kids,” added Katie Piper.

Katie, who joined the Loose Women panel earlier said this year, said she didn’t blame Frankie for bursting into tears, “If someone confronted me I’d be on the floor sobbing.

The Loose Women stars admitted they were very surprised to see Frankie Bridge involved in the first row of the series

“You don’t want to be a doormat or a people pleaser,” she added.

Kaye went on to suggest argument could have been squashed by Frankie admitting ‘I didn’t mean to say that” after seemingly suggesting Naughty Boy was a newcomer in the original camp.

“It does take a certain amount of life experience to instead of apologising to just say, ‘I’m sorry but you may have misunderstood me,'” agreed Nadia.

I’m A Celeb viewers saw the first row of the new series break out last night in an argument about rice.

It began when Emmerdale’s Danny Miller said he found it difficult to eat the latest meal that Frankie had cooked.

“It’s not supposed to be rice pudding, it’s supposed to be rice that goes with beans,” moaned the soap star.

Naughty Boy replied: “Maybe this isn’t the place to be passionate about cooking.

“I don’t want to be the one who says it, I’m just being real. It’s not rice.

Music producer Naughty Boy told Frankie off after she referred to the sleeping quarters as ‘our camp’

“If we’re having rice and beans, people would prefer to have rice and beans not rice pudding and beans.”

Frankie then snapped back: “You’re just coming into our camp and this is just what we did.”

The musician told her “No… this is our camp. That’s wrong what you just said.”

Frankie went on: “Have I just ended up in a discussion over something that’s” before Naughty Boy interrupted: “It’s not your camp.”

“Don’t be like that,” Frankie told him.

“Don’t say things like you came into our camp,” Naughty Boy told her.

Frankie had to be consoled after getting upset

Frankie then walked away from the situation before breaking down in tears.

“I just hate any confrontation,” she said. “I’m someone who avoids confrontation at all costs. I ust hate it. I don’t understand what the issue is.”

It was revealed this week that Naughty Boy, who is a practicing Muslim, has been having specially prepared meals in scenes which are not aired on television.

The star is receiving halal meals and will not be required to eat pork with his campmates.

I’m A Celebrity returns tonight at 9pm on ITV
